One of the characteristics of the local Art Deco in architecture, afforded by the reinforced concrete technology, is the very segmented facade of the buildings, and often of the whole structure, in tone with the fashionable “cubist” tendencies in art during the 1930s, detrimental for the confort and maintenance of those houses.
This coming Sunday, 27 April, I will conduct the architectural tour “The Art Deco of Domenii Quarter”, a cultural event, which aims to instill you with a structured appreciation and grounding of the 1930s architecture in one of the quality quarters of Bucharest, developed in that very period.
